Place to Visit Inside Valley

This guide you to the top destinations near Kathmandu to discover diverse natural wonders and serene retreats, ensuring your journey is truly captivating and memorable.

1.Fulbari Ghumba

Fulhari Gumba is about 6km from the Boudha, riding from the Jorpoti taking the Way to the Sundarijal and as we reach the Gokarna we can see 2 way Left leads to the “Sahid Park Road” while right one takes you to the Sundarijal. We need to take the Left one which leads to the “Sahid Park” which is currently in the Construction Stage.

We can take around in the Sahid Park as well for which we need to pay 20rupees per head entrance fee. After this, we can lead to the Fulhari Gumba and enjoy the moment with the Travel Partner.

2.Single Tree

Located near Swayambhu, at the foot of the Nagarjun forest in Kathmandu, Single Tree Hill is a teeny tiny hill that offers a splendid panoramic view over the capital city. It is the perfect place to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Not many tourists (nor expats) know about this spot as no travel guidebooks mention it and you won’t find much information in English on internet neither; tourists usually flock to Swayambhu hill to enjoy a panoramic view of Kathmandu. Don’t get me wrong, Swayambhu is one of the greatest places to visit in Kathmandu. But there are other (and better) places when it comes to see the best views over Kathmandu.

 3.Ranikot

Ranikot is the southern hill station of Bhaktapur, that up mostly lies above the Pilot Baba Ashram, Gymape Danda. This hill station immensely satisfies you with the field vision of the trio artistic burghs of Nepal i.e. Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur itself.

Ranikot, today is emerging as one of the most popular hiking destinations within the Kathmandu Valley. People from nearby places as well as from Kathmandu do the hike over there. Though it lies at an altitude of just 2,782m, it undoubtedly gives an amazing view of the great Himalayas.

 4.Muhan Pokhari

Muhan Pokhari, a natural pool, definitely is the best place for those people who don’t want to do a great hike to enjoy nature and water. Since it is not so far from Kathmandu. It will take only an hour to reach there from Kathmandu. Muhan Pokhari is 20 km away from Kathmandu and is also the nearest reservoir area from Bhaktapur. From here, Nagarkot, Sudal, Nala, Kalamasi, Shanga, and Sankhu of Bhaktapur can be designed as your further destination.

5.Shree Bhuwaneshwor Temple

This is a consecrated temple of Shree Bhuwaneshwori Devi, one of ten Dasmahavidhyas at Pashupatinath Kshetra, Kathmandu. You can make offerings and go close to the Deity. There is space to sit and meditate. You can go into meditative states effortlessly here.

This temple is located just outside of the western gate of Pashupatinath temple outer perimeter.

6.Marble Dada

Marble Dada is one such short hiking destination where you will walk into the lush green forest with a narrow path.

The hilltop got its name after a Marble Factory that was established long ago, which now is not in operation. Since the building still lies there, and the spot is known by the factory, the hike up to the hilltop is also called MARBLE Dada.

The path up to the hill is freshening with the smell, the sound, and cool air flowing. It would be around 20-25 minutes’ walk with blues sky above and green trees around accompanied by the beautiful chirping sound of the birds. The main relish comes when you reach the top. The view from the dada (hilltop) is not quite an every-day scene. Once you are there, you can experience the beautiful green hills and small valleys that you can spot with your eyes, far away from the city. You might want to spend an hour or so in the spot with a calming view and enjoy with your friends, with some snacks and chit chats.

 7.Champadevi

The Champadevi Hike is the best way to get one with nature. First of all, the trip begins from Kathmandu and heads to Bhanjyang on a short drive. The hike slowly rises along the trail through dense forest filled with a variety of plants and flowers. During the Champadevi Hike, the hike features even more mesmerizing Bagmati River, Bungmati, Khokana, and Pharping. You can also come across several Buddhist monasteries on the way to the top. Next, you reach the top of the Champadevi hill.
